January 1, 2022 is really just around the corner, and hopefully your association has been preparing and involved with the upcoming renewal year email notices.
For associations that have all or the majority of membership dues renewable as of January 1st, a few suggestions:
Take a look at all of your automated emails for membership reminders, membership payment receipts, and membership payment thank yous. In particular, make sure you have your numbers correct:
- Membership total
- Membership year – a lot of customized renewal notices in particular may have last year’s date in it. It is worth double checking if your email is customized.
- Membership due dates
- Email Send Date(s)
Most website association dues software that allow payment also allow for some sort of automated email that can be customized for both content, and automated for the specifics of the upcoming membership dues expected. If you use that, it is time to make sure it is accurately set if you haven’t checked it already.
You don’t want to be one of those associations that go through the miscue of a “surprise” emailing of the previous year’s information.
