One of the annoying things about having a business on the web is finding your business “listed” on some useless online “directory” of organizations with the intent of snagging some of the traffic looking for your business. I just did a search for “Kessler Freedman” on Google, and found us listed on all sorts of places where I’m sure we never submitted our information:
- ADDUSA.net
- companies-pennsylvania.com
- Galaxy.com
- Nav123
- advertisingmarketingandprfirms.com
- jumpman23.cc
- Cortera
- WeFollow
- U.S.A. Business Directory
- Mainkeys
- Easyfind
- Hotfrog
- A-Z Business Finder
- Akama
- Mojopages.com
and so on. That’s not all of them.
There’s not much we plan to do about it. Sometimes I am curious as to the traffic of these directories, but it seems to me that’s it the inefficient and ineffective search engine searchers that end up there.
On a side note, somebody somewhere entered our zip code incorrectly in one of these databases, and as the data was traded or sold or whatever, it continued, and quite a few of these useless sites say we are located in Mattawana Pennsylvania. Nope, still in Mechanicsburg and Camp Hill, PA. But close.
