Any time I do any market research on Google these days, I’m running into WAY TOO MUCH directory and database-driven general content. I’m talking about such places as
manta.com
findthecompany.com
informer.com
cortera.com
zitetrendz.com
pressaboutus.com
etc. They are clogging up the early result pages for searches in a way that has to be driving away users. I, for example, have discovered that using DuckDuckGo.com to be much more useful (if not quite as often updated) in cutting through this clutter for these purposes. Google really needs to get their PageRank formula fixed to get the Mantas and other database directory driven content out of the early results.
