When we compare traffic of ourselves and many of our clients, there’s no way to ignore the fact that the Chrome and Safari Browsers are growing in use. On our own site, the increase of browser share in visits for Chrome went from 16% in the previous year to 22% in the current year. Safari also went up in percentage of usage, Firefox dipped the most (about 12%) and Internet Explorer also dropped in usage percentage. Although the percentages didn’t hold to the same amounts from site to site (and you’d be surprised how difference there can be in browser percentages depending on the site) the trend line – Chrome and Safari up, Firefox and Internet Explorer down – was pretty consistent. The overall percentages change, but the direction of growth usually didn’t.
